SpatialChat now supports Push notifications, allowing you to stay informed about important activity even when you’re not currently inside your Space.
This feature ensures you don’t miss key updates such as messages, mentions, or system alerts while your browser tab is in the background or minimized.
Push Notifications are delivered through your browser’s built-in notification system (the same system used by applications like Slack, Gmail, or Google Meet). They work automatically once permissions are granted, without requiring any manual configuration inside SpatialChat.
What You’ll Receive Notifications For
Depending on your role and activity, you may receive alerts for:
New chat messages or direct mentions

New private messages

Someone enters the room or someone leaves the room

Push notifications can appear even if your SpatialChat tab is inactive, as long as your browser and operating system allow them.
How Push Notifications Work
When you first open a SpatialChat Space, your browser will request permission to send notifications.
Once granted, SpatialChat can display alerts on your desktop through your browser.
Notifications are handled by your **operating system’s notification center** (Windows Action Center or macOS Notification Center).
