Canvas LTI Integration (Beta)

SpatialChat now supports Canvas LMS integration via LTI ,enabling instructors and students to access SpatialChat directly inside Canvas with seamless single sign-on and launch.

Note: Canvas LTI Integration is a paid / premium feature and is available on eligible plans.

Where to Find It

You can enable the integration directly from your team dashboard:

Team Settings → LTI Integration (Canvas) → Configure LTI

Inside this panel, you’ll find your Configuration URL and the fields required to complete the setup.

Quick Setup Guide

Follow the steps below to connect SpatialChat to Canvas:

1. Copy the Configuration URL
   You’ll need this to create a new developer key inside Canvas.
2. Create Developer Key
   In Canvas Admin, go to:
   Admin → Developer Keys → + Developer Key → + LTI Key
3. Paste the Configuration URL
   Save it — Canvas will immediately generate and show your Client ID.
4. Enable the Developer Key
   Toggle the key to "On" (required for installation).
5. Account-Level Install
   Navigate to:
   Admin → Settings → Apps → + App → By Client ID
   Enter the Client ID.
6. Course-Level Install
   Inside any Canvas course:
   Settings → Apps → + App → By Client ID
   Enter the Client ID again.
7. Locate the Deployment ID
   After installation, Canvas will display a Deployment ID.
   Copy it and return to SpatialChat to paste both the Client ID and Deployment ID into the LTI configuration form.
