We’ve launched a set of powerful new features to help you manage your SpatialChat spaces with greater ease, security, and clarity. Whether you're running a private meeting, a lively event, or an educational session, these tools are here to enhance your flow.
🚪 Auto-Close Rooms When Admin Leaves
Keep your rooms secure and time-bound.

With the new Enable Room Closure Upon Admin Exit setting, rooms automatically shut down when the admin exits. A countdown message is shown to all participants so they can wrap up.
Why it’s useful:
- Prevents unmoderated activity after events
- Keeps conversations focused and on schedule
- Ideal for team meetings, office hours, and pop-ups
How it works:
- Enable from Team Settings or Space Settings
- Toggle on Enable Room Closure Upon Admin Exit
- Save
For the guests, a notification appears: “Admin left the room. It closes in 21 sec"

🔇 Disable Direct Chat
Keep conversations centralized and on-topic.
This setting disables 1:1 direct messages between members, helping you maintain focus in moderated spaces.
Why it’s useful:
- Prevents distraction during events
- Supports transparent communication
- Great for webinars, training sessions, and classrooms
How to enable:
- Go to Team Settings

- or Space Settings

- Toggle on Disable Direct Chat

👤 Require Email for Room Entry (Team or Space Level)
Add a layer of identity with flexible control.
Guests can now be required to enter an email to join. This behavior is managed at both the team and space levels.

Why it matters:
- Enhances security and tracking
- Useful for gated events or internal spaces
- Helps with follow-ups and organization
How to manage:
- Enable "Invitation email required" in:
- Team Settings (applies globally)

- Space Settings (per space control)

The email format is validated, but functionality doesn’t require a verified address.
🛋️ Move Users Between Rooms
Easily guide participants wherever you need them.
Admins and moderators can now:
- Move individual users between rooms
- Move all users in a room to another location with one click
Why it's helpful:
- Facilitates smooth transitions between sessions
- Supports dynamic room arrangements
- Ideal for events, classes, or team coordination
What to know:
- Users can be moved into password-protected rooms without being prompted
- To re-enter, users must manually enter the password again
- Movement into hidden rooms is not allowed
How to use it:
- Right-click a user > Move User

Or, open room settings > Move All Users

🔎 Mention Users in Chat
Make sure your message is seen.
Chat now supports @mentions! In room chat, type @ followed by a username to directly notify someone in the conversation.
Why it’s useful:
- Grabs attention in active discussions
- Clarifies who your message is directed to
- Perfect for team coordination or large groups
How to use:
- In room, chat, type @ and begin entering the user’s name
- Select the person from the dropdown that appears
