New Stage Controls, Guest Visibility Options, LTI Improvements, and More

We’ve released a new set of updates focused on giving admins more control over the guest experience, improving Stage Room interactions, and strengthening support for LTI and SSO workflows.

More control over what guests see

Admins now have more flexibility when configuring what participants can see inside a Space.

Stage Rooms now support hiding the attendee bar by default, helping hosts create a cleaner, more focused experience during presentations, talks, and live sessions.

Spaces can also hide attendee counts from guests. This is especially useful for events where organizers prefer not to show the number of participants currently present.

We also added the option to disable the “new features” callout for guests, allowing teams to keep the interface simpler and more aligned with their event or learning environment.

Stage Room improvements

We’ve made a few updates to make Stage interactions clearer and easier to manage.

The “Unraise Hand” action has been renamed to “Lower Hand,” making the behavior more intuitive for hosts and participants.

Stage Rooms now also support Pass-the-Mic, giving presenters a smoother way to hand speaking opportunities to participants during live sessions.

In addition, the Stage Timer can now be hidden from participants. We also added a Space Timer, giving organizers more control over timing across the full experience.

Better user movement across rooms

We updated the wording from “Move All Users” to “Move These Users” to better reflect the action being taken.

We also added Waterfall Logic for moving users across Breakout Rooms, improving how participants are distributed and moved between rooms during structured sessions, networking activities, or group-based events.

LTI updates and fixes

This release includes several improvements for LTI-based Spaces and rooms.

Spaces created via LTI can now have their titles and descriptions edited correctly.

We also fixed responsive scaling for LTI rooms when the browser window is resized, improving the experience across different screen sizes.

LTI NRPS support has been expanded with course-level role assignment support and display name support, helping institutions manage participants more accurately within SpatialChat.

SSO and sign-in updates

Apple sign-in support has been added, giving users another convenient way to access SpatialChat.

For SAML SSO, we added support for Unique Identifier IDs, improving identity management and making SSO integrations more reliable for organizations.

Additional fixes

This release also includes miscellaneous bug fixes and performance improvements to keep SpatialChat more stable and easier to use.
