✨ SpatialChat Changelog ✦ September 2025 Edition

We’ve been listening to your feedback. This release focuses on clarity and control: New notifications, precise layer ordering, a new Stage Background view,  and a small but important interface improvement.

✦ “Leave Space” button is now at the lower bar

The Leave Space button is now in the lower control bar, making it easier to find and use. This placement keeps all main controls in one place for a cleaner, more consistent interface.

✦ Out-of-band notifications

Never miss important actions like messages inside the room, private messages, and user interactions, even when SpatialChat isn’t in the current tab. 

How to enable it:

  1. Turn on notifications in your browser:
    Enable in Chrome
    Enable in Firefox
    Enable in Safari

Once enabled, you’ll receive alerts outside the tab.

✦ Bring layers of content to the front/back 

Arrange objects in the exact order you need.

How to use it:

  1. Select any object (image, element, or layer)
  2. Repeat until the layout matches your intended design.

Choose the “bring to front” icon from the context menu.

✦ Stage Room background

Your Stage background now remains visible while speakers and video streams are active.

How to set it up:

  1. On Stage Room, open Stage Room Background Settings.

 

  1. Upload or select a background image.
  2. Start the session; the background stays in view throughout.

These updates add more control and predictability to the way you run sessions in SpatialChat. We’ll continue to refine and expand features based on your feedback.
