We Job Box, an initiative focused on democratizing access to professional opportunities, found an innovative way to address this challenge.

Creating an Engaging Virtual Campus

Their ‘Meet the Employers’ session offered students a chance to gain insight into professional life, interact with leading organizations like Deloitte, BBC Radio, and BBC Wistem, and ask questions they might otherwise hesitate to voice. What set this session apart was its format: a fully virtual, avatar-driven campus built on SpatialChat. Students could navigate as avatars, join conversations at interactive tables, and even grab virtual coffee and snacks while mingling. This immersive setup created a low-pressure environment where curiosity and confidence could thrive.

Connecting Students and Employers Meaningfully

Students asked questions ranging from practical career advice to more candid, personal inquiries about the world of work, thereby highlighting the depth of engagement the platform enabled.

For employers, the session offered a unique opportunity to connect directly with students, answer real questions, and showcase their organizations in an interactive, approachable way. For students, it was a chance to explore careers, practice professional communication, and gain exposure to roles they might not have considered before.
