TENTENS Tech Transforms Team-Building into a High-Energy, Self-Driven Experience with SpatialChat
About TENTENS
TENTENS Tech is a technology-focused organization that places strong emphasis on internal collaboration and team cohesion. As teams grow and operate across distributed environments, maintaining a sense of connection becomes increasingly important.
Ivanko March, Billing Specialist Manager at TENTENS, is responsible for organizing internal events and coordinating teamwork. A key part of his role involves designing experiences that go beyond routine meetings: creating opportunities for employees to engage, interact, and build stronger relationships.
For one such initiative, the company set out to host an online team-building session that could bring people together in a more meaningful and engaging way.
The Challenge: Rigid Formats That Limited Real Interaction
Before adopting SpatialChat, TENTENS relied on traditional video conferencing tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. While effective for structured communication, these platforms fell short when it came to fostering natural interaction.
“Traditional video calls felt too formal and lacked any sense of live interaction,” Ivanko shares.
Participants were confined to a single shared space, unable to move freely between conversations or form smaller, organic discussion groups. This lack of flexibility made it difficult to recreate the spontaneity and energy of in-person team-building sessions.
The result was a predictable experience—functional, but not engaging. Team spirit was harder to build, and informal conversations, which often drive stronger connections, were largely absent.
The Solution: A Flexible, Participant-Led Experience
To overcome these limitations, TENTENS turned to SpatialChat to host their team-building session. The goal was simple: create an environment where participants could interact freely, just as they would in a physical setting.
The platform’s spatial audio and movement-based interface immediately changed how people engaged with one another. And instead of being confined to a static grid, participants could move through the virtual space, join conversations naturally, and form groups without any manual coordination. Breakout rooms enabled seamless transitions between discussions, while the overall environment encouraged exploration and interaction.
One of the most notable shifts was how quickly the event became self-sustaining. Although the session was carefully planned, the structure became secondary once participants entered the space.
I came in with a full plan and prepared a set of competitions. But the moment people entered the space, none of that was needed.

What followed was a completely organic experience. A spontaneous activity called “Decorate Your Table” emerged, with participants sharing images, videos, and music to personalize their spaces. The activity evolved into a collaborative showcase, where teams presented their creations to one another, becoming a central highlight of the event.
Interactions also became more natural and fluid. Networking felt intuitive, with participants approaching each other freely, thereby mirroring the dynamics of an in-person gathering.
The Results: Higher Engagement and a Stronger Sense of Connection
The impact of using SpatialChat was immediate and measurable in terms of engagement and overall experience. “Overall engagement and energy were significantly higher than in regular video calls,” says Ivanko.
Participants remained active throughout the session and, notably, continued interacting even after the event had officially ended. Many stayed back to explore features, engage in conversations, and experiment with creative elements like media sharing and backgrounds. This demonstrated a level of involvement rarely seen in traditional virtual formats.
Beyond engagement, the platform also delivered value at a critical moment. On the day of the event, the team received difficult news related to a major business incident, putting the entire session at risk. Despite the circumstances, the session went ahead and ultimately became more meaningful than anticipated.
SpatialChat didn't just host our team-building that day — it saved it. In the most literal sense.

Rather than feeling like another work obligation, the experience provided a much-needed reset. It gave the team a space to reconnect, shift their mindset, and rebuild energy in a way that a conventional video call could not have achieved.
The response from participants reinforced this impact, with overwhelmingly positive feedback and a noticeable increase in team satisfaction compared to previous virtual events.
A New Standard for Virtual Team Engagement
For TENTENS, the shift to SpatialChat marked a clear departure from passive, one-dimensional virtual meetings toward a more immersive and human-centered approach. By enabling freedom of movement, spontaneous interaction, and participant-driven experiences, the platform transformed team-building into something dynamic, memorable, and genuinely effective.
If your virtual events feel static or overly structured, it may be time to explore a more flexible approach. With SpatialChat, you can create environments where conversations flow naturally, engagement happens organically, and teams connect in ways that truly matter.
